Me: But what about gay marriage?
Paulinite: Ron Paul supports the freedom for people to marry whoever they want!
Me: But what about the Marriage Protection Act, which would have prevented federal challenges to DOMA? Or the We the People Act, which would have prevented federal courts, including the Supreme Court, to hear cases based on claims involving sexual orientation?
Paulinite: Ron Paul just wants government out of the equation and return marriage to the church where it belongs!
Me: Wouldn't that also revoke a plethora of rights associated with marriage? And what about non-religious people or people who religious groups refuse to marry?

Married couples, neither straight nor gay, should be entitled to anything that a single person can not get. Why should government encourage fornication? Humans are already great at that?
Also a church has every right to deny anything from anyone for any reason. That is what freedom is. Not freedom to force others to your will, rather freedom to have your own agenda. There are already homosexual preachers or other holy garbed gays, so I'm sure they would be more than willing to perform the personal and religious ritual.
I really wish religion was mixed in with government.
I really feel that would fixed 99% of our problem.
So do you wish that there were a state religion? Do you think the country would be better if every citizen were forced to believe Jesus died for their sins? Religion doesn’t solve any problems. It perpetuates the laziness of those who decree all is included in god’s plan. It creates banners which we wear into battle; slaughtering individuals sporting a different banner.
If you hate the Government then you are unqualified to manage it. If you hate gay people more than you love America than you should take your own advice and get the hell out. There are several countries that are openly hostile to gay people, but they are full of brown people and you don’t like them much either from what I understand. It looks like you are screwed, but that’s not what I am here to tell you.

But all these dramas were facilitated by the F.B.I., whose undercover agents and informers posed as terrorists offering a dummy missile, fake C-4 explosives, a disarmed suicide vest and rudimentary training. Suspects naïvely played their parts until they were arrested.

Exactly.
This picture kind of makes me wonder why some people feel the need to make others question their own faith. If they’re happy believing in God, why can’t you just let them be happy?
EDIT: I probably sounded like a bit of a hypocrite there, since ive sometimes spoken against some parts of religion because of the anti-gay stuff but i guess its like.. you can believe whatever you want, as long as you aren’t trying to encroach on someone else’s right to believe what they want.

There have been more acts of violence committed in the name of religion than under any other banner. It is a blight on humanity. The only true road to peace and prosperity is the completely free flow of people, goods, and ideas.
