Me: But what about the Marriage Protection Act, which would have prevented federal challenges to DOMA? Or the We the People Act, which would have prevented federal courts, including the Supreme Court, to hear cases based on claims involving sexual orientation?
Paulinite: Ron Paul just wants government out of the equation and return marriage to the church where it belongs!
Me: Wouldn't that also revoke a plethora of rights associated with marriage? And what about non-religious people or people who religious groups refuse to marry?

Married couples, neither straight nor gay, should be entitled to anything that a single person can not get. Why should government encourage fornication? Humans are already great at that?
Also a church has every right to deny anything from anyone for any reason. That is what freedom is. Not freedom to force others to your will, rather freedom to have your own agenda. There are already homosexual preachers or other holy garbed gays, so I'm sure they would be more than willing to perform the personal and religious ritual.
If you hate the Government then you are unqualified to manage it. If you hate gay people more than you love America than you should take your own advice and get the hell out. There are several countries that are openly hostile to gay people, but they are full of brown people and you don’t like them much either from what I understand. It looks like you are screwed, but that’s not what I am here to tell you.

Exactly.
This picture kind of makes me wonder why some people feel the need to make others question their own faith. If they’re happy believing in God, why can’t you just let them be happy?
EDIT: I probably sounded like a bit of a hypocrite there, since ive sometimes spoken against some parts of religion because of the anti-gay stuff but i guess its like.. you can believe whatever you want, as long as you aren’t trying to encroach on someone else’s right to believe what they want.

There have been more acts of violence committed in the name of religion than under any other banner. It is a blight on humanity. The only true road to peace and prosperity is the completely free flow of people, goods, and ideas.
Dictatorships often come under the guise of safety. They come in the dark, full of lies keeping the people from seeing what’s really going on. (Just look through history.)

No… this is stealing. Capitalism is when consenting individuals are allowed to freely make transactions. The only regulation the government should take part in is to restrict force and fraud.

But all of us who know both are wrong, both the orientation as well as harming people just for having this orientation, we get ignored, labeled judgmental homophobes and lumped into the crazies group without any intelligent recognition of the FACTS that we are stating and without any intelligent FACTS correcting the debate from any direction. Like: 1. Gays CAN’T naturally procreate, 2. Gays are NOT a racial heritage— THEY ARE OF A TINY, SELECT ABNORMAL SEXUAL BEHAVIOR THAT ONLY LESS THAN 1% OF THE GLOBE CONSIDERS THEMSELVES. 3. Gays are described as sinfully blasphemous in EVERY major holy doctrine in EVER major religious faith in history. If that doesn’t matter to you because you are an atheist or agnostic, then the 1st two facts still should count for something. Not to mention the really weird fact that despite how incredibly small the gay population is in the globe, homosexual men make up the majority of child pedophiles. I don’t know why or what to make of that fact but it is a weird FACT that deserves to be noted when exploring the different angles of this very sorted and complex debate. Why does everyone grant the government the right to charge for marriage licenses? Two consenting adults have the right to do anything that doesn’t infringe on the rights of another.
Why should the government legislate that only potential breeders could marry?
Though one’s religion might mention homosexuality as sinful, and observed homosexual behavior might offend; one is not endowed with the right to an eased mind.
