why try and save people when we could be killing dark skinned people somewhere else?

This would be accurate if a donkey were in the tank as well. The dems and reps have exactly the same foreign policy.

Political activists on Tumblr and Facebook criticizing Obama for not closing Gitmo and prolonging our presence in Iraq and Afghanistan, etc. have a point because the office of President and Commander-in-Chief is obviously only nuanced to the point where a college undergrad can fully grasp.

Am I missing the nuance that the only benefactors from this war are the contractors and arms manufacturers? Or the part about how Obama, as Commander-in-Chief, is in full control of the military? His word could end these atrocities today.

White Rich Dude

Why should any of us pay taxes to the federal government? Or if we have to, wouldn’t it be the most fair option to tax everybody at the same rate? As is, we are telling the public that the harder they work, the bigger cut Uncle Sam gets.
We also participate in favoritism, a key catalyst for the American Revolution, by taxing different industries at different rates. The government should not be trusted to pick the winners in our industrial or financial sectors. The best way to pick winners is to vote with our dollars. If we are truly free to forge our own path, then we should all be expected to pay the same percentage of our income to the federal government.

America faces a host of issues today unimaginable over 200 years ago, issues that, as a constitutional law professor would recognize, the constitution does not even begin to address. America should therefore not base its every decision within the limits of an 18th-century document written by and for a society of white male landowners. A good cartoon.

You all seem to miss the point of this cartoon. It is not a riff on the constitution as being outdated, but Obama (and every modern president) of advancing UNCONSTITUTIONAL platforms.
The United States of America is the greatest experiment on individual freedoms in human history. Is the constitution perfect? No, that is why it is constitutional to amend it. Every time we allow government to take over a part of our lives it only destroys freedom of choice and empowers the corporations that are handed their new monopolies.
We don’t need the government to provide healthcare. We don’t need the government to pick winners in industry by bailing them out of there woes or subsidizing what they do. We don’t need the government to tell us how to treat gays, women, blacks, or anybody. We should be free to do whatever we please as long as it doesn’t impose on anyone else’s rights. You do not have the right to not be offended. You do not have a right to a free education. You do not have a right to free healthcare.
Besides, schooling and medicine cost less and was of a higher quality before government took them over.
